What a fabulous send off we gave her! And it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of scores of people. Top of my list of invaluable people are Catherine Curran and Holly Yue, who co-chaired the event with me. Just as valuable were the barkeeps – John Quené, Jan and Jay Bowdler, and Cindy and Greg Dewey; the decorating committee – Jackie Linn, Sue Davis, and Molly Hoever; the food and dessert helpers – Dianne Robbins, Judy Kennedy, Michael Walker, Michael Johnson and Lonnie Struble; the cleanup crew – Susan Johnson, Lisa and Jim Sargent, Dawn and Tyson Wright, Jennine Quiring, and everyone who stacked chairs, cleared and stacked tables, and all those who pitched in wherever and whenever they were needed – Andy Chamness, Kate Muris, Laura Quené, Renée Pierce, Mike Curran, Dorothy Eddings, Gail and Bob McMichael, Brian Davis and the entire Holeman Family.
We also want to thank Emigh Hardware for the donation of the plants and Jim and Pat Cole for the bamboo fencing.
The event would not have been complete without the wonderful program. Many thanks to the choir, the senior wardens of the last eleven years, Father Rod, Bishop Meghan, Eileen Thomas, Rick Larkey, our fabulous MC, Todd Murray and of course, our faithful videographer, Jack Cozza!
I am sure I have forgotten someone and I apologize. Please forgive me and know that you were appreciated.

Thank you to all who contributed to Rev. Mary’s Retirement Gift fund! Not only did we give her a fabulous engraved vase from her favorite glass artist and a gift card to REI for Dave and her upcoming adventures, but we also set up a Rev. Mary Claugus fund with the River City Food Bank in support of her ongoing mission with RCFB! With your help we raised approximately $5,000 for this fund that we will be donating to River City Food Bank in Rev. Mary’s name, so a big thank you to everyone who made this possible!
In case you missed attending the Celebration on Rev. Mary’s last Sunday, June 30th we were fortunate enough to have Jack Cozza there to record the program at the end of the evening and this is available on our YouTube page.
