Connecting to the Community

MAP is respecting the COVID situation and recommendations so we are on hold. Check back for future productions and announcements.

About the Mission Avenue Players

The Mission Avenue Players is a community theatre on the southwest edge of Carmichael, CA. We are also a ministry of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Thirty-five years ago we started as St. Michael’s Actors Guild (SMAG) with a Chancel Drama production. We are now the Mission Avenue Players and a SARTA (Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance) member theatre open to the larger community. There is no pressure whatsoever to be a part of the Episcopal faith. Over the years, close to half of our actors, actresses, crews and audiences have come from the surrounding community. We are committed to a positive theatrical experience, and we are committed to keeping local live theatre flourishing for the next generation. We help support local social outreach projects which include Starr King Elementary School (a public school), Gifts from the Heart (a Department of Health and Human Services, County of Sacramento program), and St. Matthew’s Nursery School project for low income families.

Gifts from the Heart

Members of MAP are the organizational engine behind the success of Gifts from the Heart. Gifts from the Heart is the outcome of MAP organizers and the generous parish working together to give over 110 Seniors and children Christmas gifts. This year, St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School joined in the effort and gave stockings filled with goodies to each and every person we served!
