At St. Michael’s, the ethos of our congregation is to gather together. Sometimes it is to gather to practice our spirituality in community (Daughters of the King). Other times it is to gather to Celebrate (FUNdraising). We also gather to study (Thursday Morning Bible Study), and we have a group of men that gather to have breakfast. Other times we gather to plan and organize our ministries (Mercy & Social Justice). If you are looking for a group to join, here is a good place to start!
Parish Groups
Daughters of the King
Daughters of the King is an international order made up of women between the ages of seven and one hundred and seven who desire a closer walk with the Lord. We are lay and ordained Christian women, who are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life and supported through the companionship of our sisters. In our Rule of Life, prayer always comes first. We pray daily for the unity of Christ’s church, for the spread of Christ’s Kingdom, especially among women and girls, for God’s blessing upon the members of the Order, and for the spiritual growth of the parish and for the clergy of the parish to which the chapter owes allegiance. If you have any questions, please contact Sue Corbin, group leader.
FUNdraising
St. Michael’s has a dedicated and enthusiastic group that builds fellowship through fund raising efforts. We will meet in May 2021 to discuss the possiblity of an October 2021 fundraiser. If you are interested in helping out, please let Rev. Mary know. Money raised is given through Mercy and Social Justice grants to agencies that our members are connected with, which are doing the work of Christ in the World.

Men's Breakfast
This group is on pause since the pandemic. The Men’s Breakfast group is a group of men that meets for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month at Country Waffle on Fair Oaks Blvd. The group is not restricted to members of St. Michael’s and has no agenda or program. The men’s group organizes, prepares and serves the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper and the Welcome Back Sunday picnic. Please contact the office with any questions.
Mercy & Social Justice
This name stands for: Retired Old Men Eating Out. They met monthly on the third Thursday at noon. This group is on pause since the pandemic.
Sacred Ground
This group has taken a break because of the pandemic. St. Margaret’s Guild is a women’s group at St. Michael’s that gathers for lunch on the 2nd Monday. Each time we meet, we collect $1.00 from each attendee for outreach. We have been known in the past to gather clothing for babies and toddlers to give to St. Matthew’s for distribution to needy families. We also regularly make contributions to food programs.
